Karol from Sweden noticed a difference in the execution earlier this week between my personal QuantBar account and the MAM account. My EURUSD, AUDUSD and USDCAD trades exited far earlier than they did in the MAM account.
Here’s why:
Click on the image and open it in a different tab. Notice that on the blue charts, the time of the next bar jumps from 02:00 to 17:00.
On the beige charts, the time doesn’t jump. The 02:00 bar leads to the 03:00 bar.
The code for both accounts is nearly identical – so why the different exits? Well, the EA literally saw different prices on the two accounts. There is a 15 hour gap on the MAM prices that’s not supposed to be there. Not surprisingly, the code came to a different conclusion about the market situation than it did on my personal account.
I’ve already contacted Pepperstone about the missing bars and will let everyone know what I hear. Mystery gaps in the middle of the trading day are obviously not something we want to repeat.
PS: Luckily, the discrepancy worked out in favor of my QB Pro traders. They recovered a substantially larger portion of the losses than I did on my personal account.
Shaun,
We had similar jump yesterday and today again. I hope that pepperstone will fix this.
The cause of the issue is that I’m running too many MT4 instances on the same VPS. I’m moving the MAM account over to it’s own VPS in the next hour.
Good to know that it’s easy fix. Thank you for that information.
